Staffordshire Support for Schools

Thanks very much for your interest in the support that Staffordshire can provide for you and your school with regards to hockey.

There are a number of options available, all at either no, or very limited cost, and we would love to talk them through with you.

Options include (but are not limited to):

  • Coaches coming into your school to deliver hockey sessions, whilst at the same time training your teachers in how to coach hockey
  • Linking you up with local clubs who may be able to provide free hockey on a regular basis
  • Support for entries into local competitions
  • Provision of non-playing courses such as Young Leaders, Sports Leaders, Umpiring etc. for either pupils or teachers
  • Helping you to get hold of the right equipment

You may be interested to know that there has been a specific version of the game developed for Primary Schools, called Quicksticks. We are more than happy to bring in some equipment for you to try, and coach you all you need to know to get going.

There is also Zone Hockey for pupils with learning difficulties and diasbilities. The County and some local clubs have coaches that can support your development of this game if you would like.

If you would like to speak to someone from the County about any of these options, or would like to find out what else is on offer from the County to support local schools, please contact us using the form below.

Please enter your Details in the form below to register your interest in finding out more about how the Staffordshire Hockey Development Group can support your school:

Or alternatively (but ONLY use these options if the above does not work!):

  • Call the Chairman of the County, Dave Willenbruch on 07854 072147 or email
